As a mentor with the Young Ocean Innovators Peer Mentor Program, you will play an important role in helping high school students to develop important STEM skills in the space of Ocean Innovation. As well as sharing your experiences and providing support for your mentees, you will benefit from developing your communication skills, working in the STEM education space and have the opportunity of enriching other young people's lives through becoming a mentoring.
What does a Peer Mentor do?
A mentor is a university student studying in any field who volunteers to help support a group of high school students through this 8 week Program.
As a mentor, you are prepared to be involved approx. 3 hours per week; this may include a visit to a local marine sanctuary, supporting students to develop their project or guiding student discussion as they explore endangered species of Port Philip Bay.
